The Islamic Sunday school is privately run and supported by the MCA. It was established in 1992 as Pak Academy, and soon afterwards moved to Miami Gardens Drive Masjid. The Islamic Sunday school operates on Sundays during the regular school year and provides an opportunity to the children to learn their religion.

Age Requirement:

The minimum age required at the time of registration is five years.

The Curriculum:

The Islamic Studies “Weekend Learning Series” is used according to the student age group.

The Dress Code:

All participants at Islamic Sunday School at Islamic Center of Greater Miami are required to dress in conformity with the Islamic requirements. Participants are required to wear Loose, moderate clothing. Female participants, in addition are required to wear the head covering.

School Hours:

Assembly:       10:30 A.M. - 10:45 A.M.

1st Period:         10:45 A.M. - 12:00 Noon                                                        Islamic Studies; Sirah/Sunnah of the                                  Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Fiqh,                                        Aqidah and Ibadah, Islamic Etiquettes                                and Islamic history.

 

Lunch Break:    12:00 Noon -12:30 P.M.                                                          Students must return to the class                                        promptly at the end of the break time.

 

2nd Period:       12:30 P.M. -1:45 P.M.                                                             Quranic Studies Reading, Memorization,                           Tajwid.

 

Salat-ul-Zuhr:   Azan: 1:45 P.M,                                                                        Iqamah: 2:00 P.M.                                                                  Mandatory for all parents and students.

The registration fee is waived for community hour recipient volunteers, other fees apply as above.  Adult’s classes are offered for free. Accommodation is also made for those parents who can’t afford to pay.


 

Insurance/ Illness / Accident:

MCA and the Islamic Sunday School Staff do not provide insurance coverage and will not assume the responsibility in case of accidental injury to a child. If the parents desire protection, they shall acquire their own insurance.

If your child get hurt or become sick during school hours, you will be notified immediately, and you must make arrangements to pick up your child.
